Q: Which has a greater intrinsic value? A $50 face value 1 oz. gold coin, or a $100 bill?
Intrinsic value is the value of the product or material. Face value is the arbitrary value marked on currency. It's a quiz.

A: A $100.00 bill is only what that amount as long as someone accepts it...now, based on the fact that "the federal reserve" who is not connected to the US Government in any way shape or form , can say oh...today lets print 4 billion dollars! and have nothing to back it up. the $100.00 bill is actually worth about..hmmm the same amount of monopoly money.

Q: What is the intrinsic value of Boogle?

Q: Fellow Christians, how much intrinsic value does this life have?
While I do believe that this life has intrinsic value or God would not have put us here, and would not have told us not to murder, how much does it have? I know we are here to learn and serve others (Phillippians 1:21 says, "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.") but if that is so when does God decide that the latter is more significant than the former? I know there is no way to really know absolutely, but I would still appriciate any insight into the answer because sometimes we have to make the desicion to pull the plug or keep fighting for someone to live on.

Q: Do you agree that all wildlife has intrinsic value?

A: there is value in all life whether i see it our not. the value lies in the perspective. from my point of view, a housefly is an annoying pest. from the perspective of the bird, he is a tasty morsel. neither view is particularly sexy, but they are both 'true' to the observer. and what of the fly? because the relationship to other organisms is not readily apparent to me, doesn't mean i shouldn't consider its existence. it exists somewhere, and that is sufficient for me.

Q: What is the intrinsic value of Google?

A: Tiny. About $30 per share.

Q: Do you think life has intrinsic value or relative value?
I will give you my stand, but I want to know yours and why you take that stand. I say Intrinsic value, my reasons are as follows: Without intrinsic value attributed to life, no Human Rights could be establisted, without Human Rights no laws would be inexistance to violate and Justice could never exists. If life is relative, then human rights are relative, and all law is relative, and all justice is relative. This would therefore allow society to enslave, rape, murder, kidnap, discriminate and violate others without any outrage. A person could not expect to have justice if one viewed life as relative. Only a view that life has natural value could one attribute any true rights at all, and establish laws to protect those rights and the natural value of life. Further, justice requires that life have natural value, established rights and law in order to exist and function. It is therefore one of the foundation principles of real justice. Please reveal insight to me... Thank you for your answers, I did mean just Human life. I also agree that the world and the world's history and many people view life and if it had relative value. I personally believe all human life has natural value and therefore attribute Rights and Laws to define and protect such value. I do realize many others do not share these principles and this accounts for the extreme hostility seen around the world. Still thanks for your insight...

A: "This would therefore allow society to enslave, rape, murder, kidnap, discriminate and violate others without any outrage." You're basically describing human history in a nutshell. Justice, fairness, rights and laws come solely from the collective desires of the individuals within a society for these things for themselves. We as individuals make the connection that within a society we purchase these things for ourselves by extending the same to others. History is replete with examples of failed societies that extended rights to some but not to others. This invariably leads to a part of society that cares nothing of the rights of others because they are given none. And when these societies fall the underclass that was created feels completely justified in "enslaving, raping, murdering, kidnapping, discriminating and violating".

Q: how to compare book value, market value and intrinsic value?

A: Book value is what you paid for it. Market value is the value that you would receive for an item in an arm's length transaction with an unrelated party in today's prices. Intrisic value is more of a personal value to the holder. Something may have high intrinsic value because of personnal feelings but have little or no book value or market value.

Q: Is it possible to do anything simpy because of intrinsic value? Or is everything driven by extrinsic reward?
I feel like when I do something, anything, I always have to think about how this action will affect other people: if it will make other people happy or sad, if they will approve of it, if it will attract positive attention to me, if I can make a profit from it, if it will impress anyone. It all seems to be based on others, someone else. I don't feel like anything I do has intrinsic value. Even if I joined a religion, all my actions would then be to please some god. Is there anything that anyone truly does for intrinsic value? Is the effect of your actions and choices on other people factored into the intrinsic value? I honestly cannot say that I do anything simply because I enjoy it. I mostly enjoy the reactions of of my actions. Without a reaction, everything seems meaningless. I meant to say "simply" in the question header.

A: Its perfectly normal to want to draw attention from others for what you have discovered in your thoughts or where ever. Its our spiritual nature to want to share and have others share with us. However, the intrinsic value comes once we are able to put our ego aside and see and live our lives as a soul (or whatever word you like to describe the deepest part of your being). We then begin to seek out the lesson/growth in every experience and stop looking for personal rewards.

Q: What's the opposite of "market value?" Intrinsic value? Where else isthis term significant besides real estate

A: Well market value means it has a price ie a house is £250k. Intrinsic value means it has some other value that isn't monetary eg a flower because its pretty to look at. Intrinsic values are often applied to natural things like animals and plants because although we may not use them directly for food etc they still form a part of our lives and world. It could also be used to imply sentimental value eg a photo has no money value but is valuable to you because its a photo of someone you have lost.

Q: a) ? (b) What is the intrinsic value of the warrant? (c) What is the speculative premium on this warrant?
The Whipple Corporation currently has common stock selling for $25 per share on the National Stock Exchange. Warrants are also available entitling the warrant holder the option of purchasing 1 share of common stock for every 3 warrants held. The exercise price is $19 per share. The warrants are currently selling for $4 per warrant. (a) How much would you have to spend to buy one share of stock using the warrants? Does this make sense? (b) What is the intrinsic value of the warrant? (c) What is the speculative premium on this warrant?

A: A. You would have to spend $31 (3 warrants @ $4 each plus $19) per share of stock. At a current market value of $25 per share, it makes no sense. B. The intrinsic value of a warrant that essentially leaves you 'upside down' is zero. C. Each warrant is worth $2, for a stock selling at $25 with an exercise price of $19 plus three warrants (3 x 2 + 19 = 25). But each warrant costs $4. Therefore, the speculative premium is 100%.

Q: Is it true you cannot be prosecuted for stealing a dead body as it had no intrinsic value ?

A: Steal Neville and find out.

Q: Do I lose any intrinsic value because I am "made in China?"?

A: By all means no. People are people in my eyes. Everyone should see that. My psychology teacher has a daughter he adopted from China. Today he brought her into class and she was just as adorable as any other 5 year old girl. No different. There should be no reason you should lose any kind of value simply because you were born in a certain place. I believe in the Universal unconscious as discussed by Carl Jung. Everyone is connected and we all have a similar basic origin. It's what we choose to do in life that shapes who we are

Q: anyone else collect nickels for their intrinsic value?

A: i do

Q: Does organized religion understand and appreciate the intrinsic value of Atheism to their cause?

A: I seriously doubt it. There are a few theologians that truly do value free thought, but they're mostly condemned by the majority of religious leaders who seem to be too insecure to allow others to question their righteousness.
