Q: Investors?
I'm looking for an investor. I have a good business plan and all I need it money. I already prepared for presentation for the business plan. Is it like a loan to take money from investors? Or they want part of my business plan like 10-15% of the profits? How does it work exactly?

A: Depends if they think your business is any good. If you take out a loan you'll have to pay it back even if the business fails but if it suceeds they don't get any more than if you failed. If they take % of your profits they get nothing if the business fails but they get more if it suceeds.

Q: How can I find investors and get in contact with them?
Ok my uncle is a home builder in the metro Atlanta area, due to the credit and real estate market he is struggling to sell 4 new homes he built. He recently asked me to find out about private investors that might want an opportunity to buy out the houses. So my question is: Where can I find investors and how do I get in contact with them? What is a fair amount of profit an investor should make in relation to the appraisal value of the homes? (ex. If the home is appraised at 1 million how much should the investor pay, What percentage?

Q: Are there any investors that would like to invest in a construction and real estate startup company?
I want to start up my own business and need help. I have a business plan and have a very qualified management team. However, I lack the funds needed and I am having a hard time obtaining them. I am looking for an investor or group of investors that are interested in funding the start up of a real estate investment company that also performs various construction services within the commercial and residential spectrum.

A: This is not the place to actually find investors. You'll find plenty of scammers though. How about going to a bank. If you have a business plan and a quality team then it shouldn't be a particuarly big problem. Additionally you can search out some venture capitalists.

Q: How do you get investors for a start up company?
After you write a business plan, where can you submit it to potential investors? Where do you even find investors?

A: I don't know what town you live in but I would google your town name with investing or the biggest town next to the small town you live in. Than you would give them a call up and than it would be a interview and if they think your business is good and you are a responsible person they will invest. Their money is in the interest and if ur business plan is good and they think it makes money and you will actually follow thru than you are a good risk. jAY

Q: How can investors tell if a particular stock will perform well?
I'm currently studying finance in uni and we're taught portfolio theory and that diversification works well in reducing risk. However I don't believe in this as it is all theory. Does anyone know how and why some investors can make huge returns by just investing in one stock w/o diversification? How can they predict if a share price is going up w/o having insider information? I'm surprised there has been to answer to this question for 6 whole days. Goes to show how selfish the finance herd is today.

A: The problem is not selfishness; it is their is no real answer to your question. I will attempt to give my opinion. Many high rollers have the knack of using other peoples money to grow their own money. They still have to do some real ground work (hard research) to pick a portfolio. They have to watch their investments 24 hours a day and not be afraid to unload an investment that appears to be going down the drain with little chance of recovery. Buy low and sell high Many investors see an investment increasing; watch it for a while; then buy into it. By the time they do this, many times it is near or at it peak and starts to plummet. You have to invest in some safe companies (commonly called Blue Chip Companies) to keep your investments stablized. These companies you keep even if the investment drops - it will recover in most cases. Invest in some moderately risky companies. Use spare money to invest in high risk companies. Do your homework first and be aware of local, national, and world trends that can affect the direction of any of your investments. Be wary of get rich schemes. Ninety nine percent of the time they are scams. Good Luck - research, research, research, and be on the lookout for scams.

Q: What information do investors want that is not in financial statements?
That is, what useful information would investors need that is not in financial statements and why is it not there.......

A: The general outlook of the specific industry...or the market as a whole. Specific to the individual Co;... Planned expansion projects, new products coming to market, competition entering or exiting the market, etc. None of these thing will be in financial statements of the Co...but are all very important...if you are a potential investor. They are not listed because financial statements are backward looking and these things are forward looking. Therefore they may or may not happen and can't be on financial statements.. Hope this helped.

Q: What else can investors now expect after the subprime debacle?
What other credit programs are out there that investors should be aware of? What other factors are there that can trigger a similar, if not worse, conditions that has transpired?

A: As usual the media is blowing up this problem to be bigger than it is. Most people are still making their house payments on time. Surprise! This was all the result of greed and failure to be realistic about what you can afford. On the upside since the Fed injected some money into the system it will make housing more affordable and people will be able to buy because the sellers will have to reduce their prices-there is so much on the market. There are a myriad of other problems-China owns much of our debt and uses that as leverage on trade issues, the dollar is falling against other currencies and the demand for oil all over the world affects the markets. It is a global economy whether we like it or not and we are no longer KING.

Q: What is the process for getting investors to invest in your idea involve?
I'm a complete rookie at this. I've heard about angel investors. What is the process like for getting other people to invest in your idea? What are they looking for? Besides a business plan, what do you need? Are there alternatives to angel investors? Help me understand all of this. Any resources would be great!

A: You can get money from: Friends and family Angels VCs The SBA Find ones who live in your area. They have lots of information on websites. Follow their process exactly.

Q: how do you go about finding investors for a completely internet based business?
Does anyone know where do you go to find investors to see if they might be interested in investing in your business? I'm planning to start up a new internet business which I think is pretty unique but I'm not sure how to find investors who maybe could help with marketing it and getting it known.

A: Marketing and funding are completely different issues. If you need additional funding to get your idea developed, you have a long road ahead of you. This would involve creating a business plan and a basic website (which you can do yourself), and getting in touch with another organization that can help you track down angel investors who may be interested in your deal. This is difficult because without a "prototype" funding companies will take up your time looking at your deal, but will almost never invest. Some sneaky funding companies already have "portfolio" companies they've invested in, and they're looking to you for a free education and trade secrets they can apply to their own business. This is not fair, but there is hardly anything you can do about it, since it is you that needs the funding and it is almost impossible to get a potential funder to sign a non-disclosure agreement. If, on the other hand, you've already done a substantial amount of work on the product and/or website so you can begin promoting it, there are a ton of ways to get your website "noticed". Internet marketing techniques include blogs, news/press release submission to article engines, Google Adwords, Pay-Per-Click, email marketing, co-registration including paid solo ads, Squidoo, MySpace, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine URL submission, traffic engines, safelists, white papers, free ebooks with embedded promotional info, newsletters, etc.

Q: How can individual investors get into Geithner's banking plan?
From what I've read about these non-recourse loans, all I have to put up is 15 percent of the price. That’s the most I can lose. Plus possibly get another subsidy from Treasury toward the 15 percent. How can individual investors get into this sweet deal?

A: "Two of the country's biggest money managers -- Newport Beach-based Pacific Investment Management Co., known as Pimco, and New York-based BlackRock Inc. -- say they may launch funds that would allow individuals to have a stake in some of the bad assets to be purchased from banks."

Q: How many individual investors (Not brokers) have succeed at the stock exchange this year ?
1) Can anyone give me some statistics. 2) Can any individual investors share their experiences. 3) I would like statistics for experienced investors and new investors separately. Can anyone give me percentages.

A: You can't tell. But Many lost money and some gained a lot off of shorting stocks.

Q: How can i get investors for the hotel i plan to build?
I want to build an exotic car themed hotel. What are the steps in trying to get some investors for it?

A: Your going to need a little more than an idea in your head. You are going to need a business plan, including cost estimates, locations, market analysis, etc. before an investor is even going to be willing to listen to you.

Q: Where can I find Investors for my new online internet start up Company?
I have just recently filed for a DBA, and I have just started writing 2 separate business plans, generally the same idea but different themes. I think this could make a lot of money , and the return would greatly outweight the costs. These websites would generate profit through online advertising and a select few services we would provide to the user, but in order to build these 2 individual websites, I would have to put forth about 100,000 dollars worth (rough estimate), which would include all start up costs and etcs. After I have finished with the business plans, I will be in pursuit of investors? Where should I look for them? How should I contact them? Should I contact any specific ones that are interested in the internet? Thank You. I forgot to Mention... I do have somewhat of an online setup of one of these ideas already running... this was going to be the original idea, and solely owned by me and my partner. I thought I was going to be able to handle this on my own, but apparently not. I need more money than I already have.

A: You may want to go and pitch your ideas where investors gather. Here are some places where angel investors come and those looking for funding can come and pitch their business plans. Be sure to have a strong business plan and describe what makes your business idea stand apart: Angel Capital Association http://www.angelcapitalassociation.org Angel's Forum http://www.angelsforum.com Band of Angels http://www.bandangels.com Common Angels http://www.commonangels.com Keiretsu Forum http://www.k4forum.com Launchpad Venture Group http://www.launchpadventuregroup.com New World Angels http://www.newworldangels.com New York Angels http://www.newyorkangels.com Prairie Angels http://www.prairieangels.org (charges $125 to submit idea) Robin Hood Ventures http://www.robinhoodventures.com (charges $250)

Q: How do I find investors for an Adult film business?
I have an adult film business seeking investment. I hired someone who has been successful with finding mainstream investors in the past, but he has had no success finding capital for an adult business. Any ideas are welcome.
