Q: I heard on the news that Cedar Point might be going up for sale. Can anyone confirm?
Why would Cedar Fair sell its flagship park? The one that has been voted Best Park on the Planet for like 8 yrs running, and hold about 7 world records. I mean they just bought up Geagua Lake (sp?) a couple of yrs ago and Kings Island more recently, so they dont even have any competition in Ohio anymore. Does anyone have more info?
A: I recently read, I believe it was on the motley fool an article that was saying Cedar Fair company was prime for a buyout and they were suggesting Disney as the buyer. They believed that if Disney were to acquire the Cedar Fair company it would help them a lot with current expansion plans into smaller, regional parks and water parks. Cedar Falls has to license all the characters you see at the parks and this is a big expenditure where Disney owns their characters and could easily re-theme some of the parks to Disney while selling off some of the parks to generate capitol for the conversions. I haven't heard of Cedar Fair wanting to sell any specific parks or even the whole company, just the suggestion of a Disney acquisition of Cedar Fair as a whole might be a good move at this time. Keep your eye on the news, this would be fairly big and newsworthy and I would expect if anything were going to happen it would be after the end of the theme park season late this year or early next.
But again, this is all speculation and neither company has said anything about buying or selling anything. It might all just be a financial annalists take on things.
Q: 2009 cedar fair platinum pass?
On the 2009 pass, do you have to have them made at the park you bought them from, or can you have them made at any park? Also, can I print the perks that come along with the pass or will I get that when my pass is made?
I bought my pass at cedarpoint.com and will be going to kings island first. I am not an Ohio resident.

you will most stuff show up on your i.d. and you can pick it up at any park except canadas wonderland. they only issue passes bought with them. but once you have a pass you can use it at canadas wonderland. cedar point definately will let you get it there even though you bought it somewhere else. look at their frequently asked q's and then look at the other participating parks which do not even answer that q at all. so you should be safe just because you are going to cedar point.

A: Its very possible ford is trying to liquidate a lot of assets right now They really don,t know what to do they even closed Atlanta Assembly Plant which is or was the most efficient plant in north America So what ever they do won,t surprise me I hate that they are that way and If they would get Bill ford out of control and put someone in that knows the business they would get better, Hope this helps

A: we went last year and stayed at Hotel Breakers...on the beach..has a bar and is real real close to the back entrance...go straight for top thrill dragster...if you watch it too much you might not get the kids on...it's worth it

A: Actually it has been reported that another group was interested in that property and they were going to lease out the space. That company (name evades me at present) specializes in large-scale former manufacturing spaces.
Cedar Fair is not plural and is not the owners of Cedar Point. Cedar Point is one of the parks operated by Cedar Fair, which in turn is a Limited Partnership having some 52,000,000 outstanding shares. I own Cedar Point (well .00001% anyhow).
Q: Why are there different season pass processing policies for the same company?
I purchased my Cedar Fair platinum pass online from the Cedar Point website, and it says on that website that the pass voucher can be processed at ANY Cedar Fair park.
However..
A friend of mine purchased her Cedar Fair platinum pass online from the Kings Island website, and it says on that website that the pass voucher can only be processed at Kings Island.
Why? Is it because they were purchased from different websites? Both parks are owned by Cedar Fair and both parks are in Ohio.. I don't get it.
A: Cedar Fair is still working out the back office systems to merge the PKI systems into their own. You can purchase the platinum pass for Dorney, ValleyFair, Knott's, etc. and still activate them anywhere.
The same thing happened with the Geauga Lake acquisition. They'll have everything in place to start next season.

Let's crush a 119-year-history, upsize the water park while flattening the side that can actually operate more days out of the year compared to a water park, while using the word "exciting" to describe the change, when Cedar Point has it's own INDOOR water park just up the interstate. I'm from Texas, so forgive me if I just don't see how an outdoor water park in Ohio can be all that exciting.

A: net realizable value is the final value where you are of the opinion that the assets final implicit value attached with. For example, if you revalue the inventories, accordingly to the purchase order and sales invoices price, the goods are worth $250k. However, you know that due to the exceptional case such as flood or earthquake, you stock will only be able to sell at $100k, that $100k of the value is the final net realizable value to your stock.
